The constant force crimp die must be used with a press that has a vertical ram
since it uses gravity. The press must also be able to use standard 7/8-14 threaded dies
and have enough clearance above the press to allow the lever to work freely.
This means that almost all "C", "O", and progressive presses should be compatible with
this die.   The Dillon Square Deal and appearantly some of the Star presses use smaller diameter dies so our crimp die won't
work with them(this is a good reason to upgrade to a 550 or ?). The die has been used
with a Dillon 550B and a Lyman Turret press.   It will work with the Bonanza B1B if the
primer post and the shell holder mechanism for priming on top of the two vertical
guide rods is removed and the lever positioned between the guide rods.   If you have
any questions on other presses, email or contact CONSTANT FORCE PRODUCTS and we will try to help you out. The die
is 4.25" high, shorter than a Bonanza benchrest seating die and has a diameter of 1-5/8 on the
top part. The lever can be swung around 360 degrees so it should be compatible with
nearly every type of progressive press. Depending on the make of your press and how
its mounted on the your bench the last notch or two on the lever may allow the weight
container to hang too low. In that case just add an extra pound or two to the
container and use one of the other notches. If your press doesn't have a vertical ram
and you really want to use this die you will have to remount the press with a wedge
shaped spacer so it is vertical. Check out the drawings and pictures in other pages of
this web site to get a better idea of its size, configuration, and operation.
